At this point in time, it’s unclear whether Toronto Maple Leafs captain John Tavares will be heading to Beijing in 2022 to represent Canada. Some mock rosters have him included while others do not. Regardless of whether he makes the final cut, Tavares has already left his imprint on the Olympic experience this year.
That’s thanks to one now-famous photoshoot he did to help promote Lululemon’s new line of Team Canada apparel for the Games.
Generally a very low-key guy, this was definitely a pleasant surprise for the hockey world to find on their timelines. It’s not very often you get to see a guy like Tavares posing stoically while a photographer gives him directions on how to FULLY capture the essence of the Lululemon line.
Fast forward a few weeks, and we finally got the guy to speak about it. Not only that, his teammates chimed it too!
Sounds like the guys definitely had some fun with it.
While we don’t think the photoshoot had anything to do with it (unless????), Tavares has been on a tear recently. Since the photos dropped in late October, Tavares has scored 7 goals and recorded 13 points in just 9 games played.
Maybe he should look into doing these shoots more often?
