Things are looking up for the city of Toronto right now.
Residents were overjoyed yesterday after the Maple Leafs announced that they had signed John Tavares to a 7-year $77 million contract. Toronto native Milos Raonic kept the ball rolling this morning after earning his first victory at Wimbledon with an impressive win in straight sets.
TSN’s Mark Masters, who’s at the tournament covering the action, asked Milos about his thoughts on the move. The 27-year-old unsurprisingly had nothing but praise for Tavares, and insisted he’s planning on catching a few more games in the upcoming year.
And here’s the tweet he posted after the news was released.
Okay, so the guy isn’t the biggest hockey fan, but doesn’t three games seem like far too few considering he’s a pro athlete from the city? Guess that’s all about to change.

It’s going to be a memorable month if Milos can find a way to win at Wimbledon.
