Canadian rapper Drake is a huge, huge, HUGE sports fan. When he’s not in the recording studio or on tour, he will often times be seen sitting courtside or in the box seats at a sporting event. The only issue is, sometimes teams don’t want him to be there.
It’s nothing to do with him as a person, it’s just that he has this annoying little thing following him around called a curse…
Athletes, teams, and fans are extremely superstitious groups, and they have noticed a little trend that seems to be associated with Drake. Whichever team he supports, that team goes on to lose. Whether it’s a flurry of European soccer teams, the Raptors, Kentucky basketball, Alabama football, or even tennis superstar Serena Williams and MMA fighter Conor McGregor, all have fallen in their following competition after Drake took a stance.
You can bet Leafs fans weren’t happy when the rapper showed up to the Toronto Maple Leafs important Game 4 against the Boston Bruins… To make their disdain even more acute, the Leafs couldn’t complete the comeback and fell to the B’s to even the series.
