Ahead of Thursday night’s NBA Draft, Foot Locker has released a humourous series of commercials highlighting their “One and Done” shirts, having some fun at the expense of Trae Young’s late-season slump and even LiAngelo Ball’s shoplifting arrest in China.
A third commercial has been released for the actual draft night, and a surprise guest star makes a cameo. Yes, joining his son in Foot Locker’s latest is none other than omnipresent NBA dad Lavar Ball.
To nobody’s surprise, Lavar makes a great TV salesman. Of course, with the way he peddles the products and image of his Big Baller Brand, it should come as no surprise.
Check out the two previously released commercials as well, because they get in a few pretty good jabs at LiAngelo and Young.
Earlier in the night, Young was taken by the Dallas Mavericks with the fifth pick, although he’ll go to the Atlanta Hawks as part of a draft-day trade involving third overall pick Luka Dončić. Meanwhile, Ball has not been drafted through 35 picks in the draft -- he was considered a fringe second-round prospect entering the night.
