A couple years ago, LaVar Ball was one of the most outspoken and outlandish characters around the world of basketball. Before his oldest son, Lonzo, was drafted 2nd overall to the Los Angeles Lakers, it was hard not to hear all the noise coming from LaVar.

Pretty much everyone agreed it was more for shock value and clout than anything, we don’t think that he actually believes he could beat Michael Jordan 1v1. LaVar has taken a bit of a backseat as his sons continue to move up in the basketball world, but he chimed in with a message of support after it surfaced that LiAngelo Ball was signing a deal with the Detroit Pistons.

LiAngelo – the middle child – is the 3rd Ball brother to enter the NBA. Lonzo first did so when he was drafted 2nd overall, and LaMelo was most recently drafter 3rd overall by the Charlotte Hornets.

It’s refreshing to see LaVar keep it short and simple, rather than take over the spotlight for himself.
