The Colorado Avalanche held a public practice in which the team was divided between Burgundy sweaters and White sweaters. The practice, called Fan Fest Open Practice, is essentially a showing for the fans before regular season hockey kicks off, and you’re sure to have a few memorable moments that will leave the team’s faithful smiling.
For the Avs, that moment was provided by team captain Gabriel Landeskog when he flipped the puck onto his stick before unexpectedly kicking it into the net. The move got quite a reaction out of the fans, and left players on the bench smiling as well.
Gabe was enjoying himself as well, explaining that he wishes every practice could be as fun as Fan Fest.
He wasn’t the only one lighting the lamp in the shootout eiher, although Mikko Rantanen’s goal was a little more conventional.
Either way, someone shold really look into making these Fan Fests a more regular occurrence.
