As the start of the 2020-2021 NBA season unfolds tonight, the Lakers finally received their championship rings prior to tip-off against the Clippers.
Though the ceremony was a bit different this year due to the current pandemic, the Lakers were able to celebrate in a unique way.
With their families sending them personalized video messages that were played on the jumbotron above them before they’d go up and grab their rings.
How sweet!
Anthony Davis received his first ring as a Laker courtesy of his long time girlfriend Marlen, daughter Nala and his parents.
Just look at the joy on AD’s face when his daughter says “go daddy!” Cuteness overload!
Another Laker who crossed off yet another ring on his list was none other than Lebron James who received a special message from not only his mother, uncles, Brony, Bryce, and Zhuri, but his dog Indigo! (There should be more dogs in ring ceremonies moving forward, just saying.)
In addition, Lebron received a few congratulatory messages from students of the I Promise School, which is supported by the Lebron James Family Foundation.
Just look at Lebron vibing with his fourth overall championship ring and first with the Lakers organization.
Even though family members and friends were supporting them from their own homes via video messages, that didn’t stop players from celebrating and feeling the love.
What a great feel-good moment to start the NBA season back up.
