LA Sparks to honour Lisa Leslie with her own statue outside Staples Center

Lisa Leslie is one of the greatest players in WNBA history and the Los Angeles Sparks plan on honouring the eight-time WNBA All-Star in an awesome way in the near future.

On Thursday afternoon, LA Times sports columnist Arash Markazi tweeted that Leslie will be getting a statue from the Sparks outside the Staples Center, which will make her the first WNBA player to get a statue outside an arena.

Lisa Leslie is going to get a statue outside of Staples Center. The Sparks and AEG will talk about the specifics soon but it will be the 11th in Star Plaza and the first honoring a female athlete. Leslie sits 7th all-time on the WNBA's scoring list with 6,263 points and fourth on the all-time rebounds list with 3,307, and her statue will be the 11th one to go up outside Staples Center.
