We’re a quarter of the way through the 2019-20 NHL season and it’s gone two different ways so far for the Arizona Coyotes and the Los Angeles Kings.
The Coyotes sit in second place in the Pacific Division with 12 wins and 26 points through their first 21 games, while the Kings sit in the basement of the division with just eight wins and 17 points through their first 20 games.
On Monday night the two teams met at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona, and the hosts were well prepared as they came up with a special chirp for the visitors that aired during a break in the action.
Earlier this year, a ‘Taylor Swift Most Sold Out Performances’ banner was added to the rafters at the Staples Center. On Monday night, the Coyotes put together their own version of the banner and put it above the Kings’ tunnel.
However, while everyone inside the arena got a good laugh at the joke when it happened, the Kings got the louder laugh by turning the Coyotes’ own joke against them.
The Coyotes will most likely finish ahead of the Kings in the standings and get the two points on Monday night, but this point definitely goes to the Kings.
