Back in late November, the Toronto Raptors made their way to Golden State for a battle of two basketball behemoths.
The two heavyweights went at it, with the Raptors prevailing to take it in overtime by a score of 131-128.
Yes, the Warriors didn't have Steph Curry, DeMarcus Cousins or Draymond Green in their lineup, but to get a victory on the road in one of the most intimating buildings in the NBA that shelters the Warriors was an impressive feat, nonetheless.
Following the game, Klay Thompson was asked about his opinion of this particular Raps club and said he wouldn't be shocked if the Warriors faced the Raptors NBA Finals.
"Right now they are the best," Thompson told the media earlier this week. "I expect them to be there probably throughout the whole season. They got tremendous length, they got so many two-way players, obviously, Kawhi [Leonard] is back and playing at an MVP level, and Kyle Lowry is a great leader as well as — he's a bulldog out there."
"It's going to be a great test for us," he continued. "Who knows, it might be a preview of June. But they've got something really special up there in Canada right now."
A few weeks later in Toronto, the Raps knocked off the Warriors without Kawhi Leonard in the lineup while the Warriors nursed an almost-healthy lineup (minus Cousins).
While they're will be many who continue to doubt the Raps, don't be suprised if they end up making it a series considering how the faired in the regular season, even if it was the early stages of the campaign.
