UFC fans have been waiting years to see Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson go toe-to-toe inside the octagon, and they might have to wait a little longer.

On Wednesday it appeared that Khabib was backing out of his upcoming tilt with Ferguson due to safety reasons regarding the coronavirus pandemic, which would be the 5th time a fight between the two would be cancelled.

But on Thursday Khabib said he hasn’t backed out.

Khabib spoke to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto on Thursday and mentioned that he never backed out and that he isn’t flying anywhere when he doesn’t know where he’s flying to. He also mentioned that getting out of Russia isn’t as easy as people think with everything that’s going on in the world right now.

Now we’ll just have to wait and see what Dana White and the UFC decide on.
