Kevin Durant has been an integral part of the Warriors' dynasty, but the talk this postseason has been all about if or how the Warriors are better without KD, one of the greatest players of all-time.
Golden State hasn't lost since Durant went down in Game 5 against Houston and the style of play in which they've won with has been a reminder of how good they were before KD came to town. On Friday, Durant spoke to the media and was asked about the rift the media has created between him and his team.
Stephen Curry was also asked about that same subject and here's what he had to say.
One of the reasons why KD joining the Warriors went so smoothly was because every single player on that team put their ego aside for one common goal, to win championships.
How difficult that is to do is actually very underrated. We've seen super teams fail in the past and it would be so easy for a player like Klay Thompson or Stephen Curry for that matter to be upset about having to sacrifice for KD. That's never happened, though, and that chemistry and togetherness is part of what makes the Warriors so good.
In Durant's absence, the Warriors have stepped up to the challenge of winning without him, but they're certainly more than ready to win with him again. Unfortunately it might be a little while longer before they can do that as it doesn't seem like he'll be ready for Game 1 of the Finals. (H/T: SportsCenter)
