2020 is just straight up unprecedented. So many things have happened this year that are unmatched by any other in recent history, mostly to do with the COVID-19 virus that has resulted in a global pandemic.
It’s hard to know what to do when you end up in a situation like this. Obviously health and safety comes first, but at what point to you ease up precautions? When can businesses re-open? For our purposes, when can sports return?
That process has already begun, with some sports getting back to competing already, and most other leagues implementing some sort of Return To Play plan. For the NBA, it’s certainly come with drama.
After the NBA and the NBAPA came to an agreement on how to re-institute the NBA season, important member of the NBAPA suddenly hosted a group call with other NBAers to express concerns over returning. That didn’t sit well with former NBAer and current analyst Kendrick Perkins, who called out Kyrie for going about this the wrong way.
It didn’t take long for Perkins’ former teammate Kevin Durant to step in, standing up for his current teammate in Kyrie.
This whole thing feels a bit like the first time watching Inception, but the multiple layers deepened even more when KD retweeted a video clip showing Perkins throwing up an ugly looking air ball WHILE Durant was on the court!
