Fans like to joke around about players colluding during All-Star weekends and throughout the offseason, especially when it comes to the NBA.
They say there’s truth behind jokes, and this time that’s certainly the case.
On Tuesday, Kevin Durant admitted on his new podcast "The ETCs" on The Boardroom that he and Irving decided during the 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend to team up.
Here's what KD says at the 36:30 mark, courtesy of For The Win.
“The All-Star game video where they caught us in the hallway. That’s when it was solidified that we were going somewhere. They didn’t know for a fact where it was, but it was somewhere.”
Durant even went on to say that they caught the decision on camera and even interrupted Kyrie Irving to make sure it got out there.
In case you forgot, Irving got upset with the media for speculating that the conversation between the two was about joining forces...
They still haven’t played together yet, as Durant missed the entire season, so we’re still waiting on the debut of the Brooklyn duo.
