Keith Yandle is now in his third season with the Florida Panthers, the New York Rangers haven’t forgotten about their old friend.
The defenceman played 21 games with the men in blue after getting traded from Arizona during the 2014-15 season, and then spent the entire next season in New York as well. The reliable blueliner put up 58 points during his 103 games in a Rangers uniform, but New York wasn’t about to offer an emotional video tribute to him.
Instead, the Rangers decided they’d go the troll route.
A classic Family Guy clip was a not so subtle shot at Yandle. If he wasn’t quite sure to begin with, they made sure to show him on the Jumbotron right afterwards.
Luckily Yandle took it in good fun and laughed it off, along with Michael Matheson sitting next to him.
