Doug Jarvis. Garry Unger. Steve Larmer. Those are the only NHL players to have a longer Ironman streak than Keith Yandle.
They recorded 964, 914, and 884 games respectively, but all of them have since retired. That means the longest active streak belongs to Yandle, who currently sits at 867. It almost didn’t make it there, when the threat of a healthy scratch nearly ended it at 866.
While this would certainly indicate that Yandle’s streak is anything but safe, he managed to get into the season opener in the end. Not only that, he managed to score his 100th goal in a Cinderella story Ironman streak extension.
