The UFC is an organization full of trash-talking, controversy, and individual rivalry. It is not uncommon to hear two combatants trading verbal shots for weeks leading up to their meeting in the octagon.
While much of it is hyperbole and building the narrative, sometimes it goes a little too far. Nobody is more prone to going to for than UFC bad boy Colby Covington.
Ahead of the matchup, the controversial Covington was once again ruffling feathers. After multiple remarks that were interpreted by many as racist or discriminatory, Usman met him in the octagon, punched him in the face a bunch, broke his jaw, and won the bout.
Following the victory, he gave multiple inspiring speeches about what it means to be an American, and how Covington doesnβt represent those values.
Itβs hard not to respect the integrity of a response like this.
