The Carolina Hurricanes won over a lot of new fans this season thanks in part to the creative Storm Surges they busted out after victories on their home ice.
However, as the team put all their focus and energy into clinching a spot in the playoffs they decided to put the Storm Surge on hold moving forward.
Not only were the Hurricanes the biggest surprise during the regular season, but they’ve been the biggest surprise during the playoffs as they’re the first and only team to have a spot booked in the conference finals. With that being said, Justin Williams joined the OverDrive guys on Monday afternoon and hinted at the chance of the Storm Surge making a return in the Eastern Conference Final.
Williams didn’t exactly say that the Storm Surge will be making a return in the next round, but the Hurricanes captain did say that the weather reporters are usually wrong in Raleigh because of the unpredictable storms and that’s what fans can expect from the team’s celebrations moving forward.
