The Texas Rangers completed a three-game sweep over the Houston Astros with a 4-3 victory on Sunday evening, but they nearly lost shortstop Jurickson Profar to a scary injury during the game.

In the top of the 6th inning, Profar gave the Rangers a 2-1 lead with an RBI double but it came at a price. As Profar slid into second base to extend an easy single into a double, he ended up taking Yuli Gurriel’s cleat right to the face.

Profar needed to get bandaged up so he could stay in the game, and he went on to play the rest of the game without any issues.

As for the 25-year-old utility infielder, he was showing off his battle scars ahead of his team’s game in Arizona on Monday night.
