NFL players have rocked some pretty sweet cleats this season, and Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster is following suit with these awesome cleats in collaboration with My Cause, My Cleats.
My Cause, My Cleats, is a new initiative in the NFL that has allowed players top sport custom designed cleats supporting an initiative of their choice for the 13th week of the season, and then auction them off online with all proceeds going to the foundation they selected.
JuJu Smith-Schuster, one of the NFL’s best characters, decided to use his cleats to support The Call of Duty Endowment, which helps over 50,000 veterans affected by unemployment.
Smith-Schuster wanted to make the cleats a little more personal, and had them pay homage to one specific veteran with an incredible story.
Myron Ellis is an Afghanistan veteran and retired Marine sergeant who now resides in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. He is a Purple Heart recipient, that suffered severe injuries after stepping on an improvised explosive device while he was deployed. Ellis is still recovering from his injuries, and Smith-Schuster was inspired by his story.
The kicks were designed by “Kickasso”, who is responsible for a lot of the National Football Leagues sweetest cleats, and will be available for auction immidiately after the game on Sunday.
