Josh Donaldson’s time with the Toronto Blue Jays has come to an end.
The 32-year-old 2015 AL MVP was dealt to the Cleveland Indians on Friday night hours before the midnight deadline where he will join former teammate Edwin Encarnacion.
Although Blue Jays fans knew that the move was inevitable after John Heyman reported he would be moved before deadline it still didn’t make them feel any better when the deal finally went down.
As for baseball fans in Cleveland, they’re pretty excited about the move.
In his four seasons with the Blue Jays, Donaldson hit 116 home runs and drove in 316 runs and owned a .281 batting average and .383 OBP in 462 games. He also won the 2015 AL MVP award, the 2015 AL Hank Aaron Award, led the AL in RBI and runs scored in 2015, earned two Silver Slugger Awards and made three All-Star appearances.
