Josh Donaldson is truly a believer of the old saying of "kill them with kindness."

The former Blue Jays third baseman and AL MVP has been killing baseballs thrown by New York Mets pitchers this season with a batting average just south of .400 to go along with nine dingers.

Donaldson was at it again on Sunday, as the Braves looked for a sweep against their NL East divisional rivals. Standing in the on-deck circle, a Mets fan sitting front-row decided it was a good idea to heckle one of the hotter players in baseball right now in the top of the fourth. Donaldson decided to ask the fan for good luck in his at-bat by asking her to touch his bat. The fan declined the offer and instead said they would do so to give him some bad luck.

When Donaldson stepped up to the plate, he crushed his 32nd home run of the season. He then jotted back over to the fan, asking for a high-five to celebrate the dinger, but once again, she declinded.

Before taking the field in the next half-inning, Donaldson walked over to the fan and her friend, and presented her with a signed bat, with a special message of "to my biggest fan" inscribed on it.

Talk about a fantastic moment.

And that right there, folks, is how you deal with a heckler.

Donaldson and the Braves strung together their eighth win in a row and are a force to be reckoned with as they enter the final month of the regular season nursing a six-game lead over the Nats for top spot in the division.
