The Cleveland Indians placed Josh Donaldson on the 10-day disabled list on Monday afternoon and was sent down to the Triple-A Columbus Clippers for a quick rehab assignment.
It didn’t take Donaldson very long to crack the Triple-A lineup as he started at third base in Monday’s game against the Toledo Mud Hens. Not only did the 32-year-old record his first hit with the club, but he cranked a massive grand slam in his team’s win.
Donaldson’s grand slam came in the bottom of the fourth inning to put the Clippers up 5-0 and they eventually went on to win the game 8-1.
As for the 2015 AL MVP, he finished 1-for-2 on the night with one walk, a home run and four RBI.
