Josh Donaldson and Marcus Stroman were teammates in Toronto from 2015 until 2018 and were two very important pieces to both Blue Jays teams that went to the ALCS in 2015 and 2016, but now they’re division rivals in the NL East.

On Thursday night the New York Mets and the Atlanta Braves closed out a three-game series at SunTrust Park and the former teammates got to face each other for the first time since July 4, 2014. Donaldson’s first at-bat of the night went in favour of the third baseman as he got walked, while the second went to Stroman as he got Donaldson to ground out.

The third at-bat, however, was all Josh Donaldson.

Donaldson kicked things off in the bottom of the sixth inning and got things started with an absolute bang as he crushed his 27th home run of the year off his former teammate. But, at the end of the night it was Stroman who got the last laugh, as the 28-year-old picked up his first win as a member of the Mets.
