Writing Rainn Wilson in the title of this article almost felt incorrect. It really felt like we should be saying Dwight Schrute. While Wilson has had a very successful acting career, he’ll always be Dwight Schrute to fans of The Office – one of the most popular sitcoms of all-time.
It seems as though Josh Allen may be a member of the ever-growing fan base. After Wilson publicly claimed that Josh Allen was his second favourite quarterback in the NHL, the Bills pivot had a hilarious reference in response.
For those that don’t watch the show, Rainn Wilson’s character is constantly trying to establish himself as the “Assistant Regional Manager”, while his boss Michael Scott (played by Steve Carell) maintains that his job title is “Assistant to the Regional Manager.”
In other words, Allen’s response is perfect. Wilson’s tweet does leave one questions… who is his favourite? He’s alledgedly a Seattle Seahawks fan, so it’s possible that Russell Wilson is his favourite. The two BASICALLY share a name.
Or could his favourite now be Baker Mayfield after the Cleveland Brown quarterback dropped a Dwight Schrute quote this weekend?
