Saturday night’s action between the New York Yankees and Houston Astros was WILD.
It looked like Game 6 of their ALCS series was heading to extra innings after DJ LeMahieu slashed a heroic two-run bomb in the top of the 9th to tie things up at fours, but after George Springer took first base with a two-out walk, Jose Altuve launched fans out of their seats with a walk-off two-run dinger to send Houston to the World Series.
You just can’t make this stuff up.
The always classy Altuve hit the podium for his post-game presser and rather than discuss his homer first, the 29-year-old chose to praise Springer for taking the walk and extending the inning instead. The biggest moment of this dude’s life and that’s what he decides to do?
What a gem.
Make sure you give yourself some credit too, Jose!
The greatest moment of the night came right after the win, when Altuve had a chance to share a beautiful moment with his daughter. If you don’t love this man then there’s something wrong with you!
The Astros will now take on the Washington Nationals and attempt to win their second World Series in the Altuve era.
