Professional athletes are real-life superheroes in the eyes of the youngest sports fans and some of them truly do live up to the reputation and change lives whenever they can.
Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is one of the most famous athletes in the world right now, but that doesn’t stop him from making appearances in the community or surprise visits to fans.
Recently, Altuve stepped up in an incredible way as he made a surprise visit to a young Astros fan that lives in Galveston, Texas, and was recently the victim of a gas explosion in Panama.
Miguel Ignacio is the young Astros fan who got the surprise visit from his favourite player and his reaction was absolutely priceless as he couldn’t help but stop in his tracks in disbelief. Once it all set in and he realized it truly was Jose Altuve standing before his eyes he embraced the 6-time All-Star with a big hug.
Altuve didn’t just stop by to say hello, though, he stuck around and turned it into an entire day which included eating with Miguel and his family.
We say it a lot, but this truly is what it’s all about.
