Life is pretty good for Jordan Binnington right now.
The Richmond Hill, Ontario, product just joined a select group of goaltenders who won the Stanley Cup in their rookie season, putting the St. Louis Blues on his back at the start of the 2019 calendar and leading them all the way to their first championship in franchise history.
Friday was Jordan's special day with the hockey's ultimate trophy. Lord Stanley's mug was in Binnington's hometown, and the mayor of Richmond Hill, Dave Barrow made it be known their town was the home of a Stanley Cup Champion. Binnington was also presented with a key to the city.
One fan even got to meet his idol goaltender, as Binnington coordinated to surprise a young boy by the name of Kevin.
When it became night time, it was time to party, and that's exactly what Binner did.
Come Saturday, Binnington avoided arbitration and signed a two-year extension worth $8.8 million.
Not a bad weekend, eh?
