Monday night’s matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks featured an early candidate play of the year.

You’re probably thinking that the play was made by one of Kevin Durant, Steph Curry or Klay Thompson. Well, think again.

With Golden State up 119-94 in the final three minutes of the game, Warriors rookie Jordan Bell decided that it was time to whip out an alley-oop dunk during garbage time. Now usually, an alley-oop is executed between two teammates, but Bell decided that he was going to do it all by himself.

And how about that outlet pass that JaVale McGee smacked down court to Bell?

The reaction from the Warriors said it all.

Understandably, Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle wasn’t thrilled about the lack of sportsmanship shown by Bell when the game was out of reach.

Alley-oops excecuted by one during a blowout might not be the best way to gain respect from your peers around the league, but they are fun as hell to watch. Steve Kerr noted that the dunk was pretty, but knew that the Mavericks would take issue with it.

Bell finished with 6 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 9 minutes of action.
