One of the many adjustments players hopping north of the border to play in the Canadian Football League from the NFL is getting used to the different size of the football.

To the average person, the move might not seem like much, but when you’re a professional player and have grown up using the smaller NFL sized, you’ll definitely feel a difference.

His journey in the CFL didn’t exactly get off to the best start, but over the last two weeks, he’s started to show signs of the quarterback he was when he won the 2012 Heisman Trophy while at Texas A&M.

Manziel sat down with TSN’s John Lu to break down the different tactics he did to feel more comfortable with the bigger ball, his preferences for more ‘aged and older balls’ which present a smoother grip. Manziel also touches on the ‘Mississippi Mud’ he uses to get a better feel.

Earlier this season, Manziel spoke to 3DownNation and explained that the biggest difference for him was how the call launched out of his hand.

Last week, the 25-year-old completed his first two touchdowns of the season, and will face the Calgary Stampeders at home on Thanksgiving Monday.
