Remember this commercial?
Nobody ever pictured an instance where a whole bunch of NHL players ended up in the same hotel actually happening, but here we are, 2020.
So while this commercial allowed us to have a visual of what the hotel situation might look like in the bubble, we had no idea what it would look like to have consecutive games in the same rink until it was actually happening.
First of all, we love the minor league energy it brings. How cute is it to see players watching the game before them?!
So. Fun.
Of course, there’s some downsides to this.
Sunday saw the Toronto Maple Leafs and their playoff kryptonite, the Boston Bruins, play after one another. The tight schedule and close quarters made for a wildly awkward but equally hilarious moment in the hallway between the B’s and Leafs captain John Tavares.
Truly an awkward moment to end all awkward moments.
The win here is that Tavares didn’t drop his coffee, which would have made it even MORE awkward, so at least we can take solace in that.
