In hockey, there is a language that may seem foreign outside of a hockey arena, but it’s very clear within it.
In the past, we’ve even done full videos where we have hockey players explain the terms so that everyone can have a better understand. However, one of the easiest to understand is “Let’s Go”. Now, this may not be exclusive to hockey, because we’re sure it’s been yelled in some Worldstar video of people fighting, but it comes up a lot on the rink.
The latest and one of the best examples was last night with John Gibson and Louis Domingue. The Arizona goaltender is chirping at Gibson in a TV timeout and he only needs one simple response, “Let’s go”.
There’s a lot of times where we wonder what’s being said on the ice in scrums like this, but it’s probably simpler than you’d think most of the time. Gibson leaves no question in this moment though, as is clearly stating he’s had enough of the chirping and if Domingue wants to continue the jousting, that they do it with their fists.
The only thing that says you want a donnybrook more than “Let’s Go” is going tarps off.
