Warning: Sit down, make sure your last meal has digested, and get ready for something nasty.

Joel Embiid was deep in his own paint trying to make a block when a harmless looking play quickly turned gruesome. The huge Philadelphia 76ers centre suddenly began walking away from the rim, appearing to be in pain. At first it wasn’t clear what had happened, but as he removed his other hand and revealed the injury it became pretty clear this was no fake injury.

Embiid’s ring finger looked as though it had made a wrong turn. The disorderly appendage was clearly pointing in the wrong direction, and it turns out that was due to dislocation.

Just watch people’s faces as they lay eyes on the finger for the first time:

Embiid understandably went straight to the locker room after that one. Incredibly, he managed to return after almost no time at all.

Shades of Kobe?

Maybe not quite as slick, but still tough as nails.
