You're probably never going to see an athlete agree with their assigned player rating in a video game. Even elite level NFL players with 99 overall ratings probably aren't all that satisfied that they're just shy of 100.

It makes sense though, as for athletes to get to the professional level, they've got to have a large amount of confidence in their ability. One such athlete who has trusted the process and is a firm believer in their elite abilities is Sixers centre Joel Embiid. Before being told his rating in the upcoming NBA 2K18 title, Embiid explained why he believes he should be a 95. He was not given a 95 rating. He was given an 86 rating, something he didn't agree with.

Anyone who has ever played NBA 2K knows that 86 is a pretty solid rating, especially considering the fact that Embiid only has 31 NBA games under his belt. If he continues to trust the process, we're sure he'll bump that rating a bit closer to his desired 95 overall mark.

Just for context, Paul George believed he should be a 92, and he was happy to find out that his real rating is 91.

If Embiid truly wants to to improve his rating next year, he better ask Paul Pogba to take down that video of him draining a shot on him. Technically speaking, a professional basketball player known for their defense should be able to defend against a professional soccer player on a basketball court.

Pogba beat the buzzer 🏀 splash!! Bro don't get mad 😡🤣😜@joelembiid
