The Philadelphia 76ers and the Minnesota Timberwolves only play each other twice a year, but apparently that’s all it takes for players to grow to dislike each other on the court.
The two teams met in Philadelphia on Wednesday night for their first meeting of the year and the first since last March, but there was some bad blood between Karl-Anthony Towns and Joel Embiid and they took care of things the physical way.
Usually when we see two guys go at each other in a basketball game it’s mostly just a lot of pushing and shoving before they’re separated by their teammates and officials. That was not the case on Wednesday night in Philly as a full-on wrestling match broke out between the two big men.
Towns didn’t really stand a shot once they hit the ground and that’s because Ben Simmons got right in there and put the T-Wolves’ star in a headlock to keep him from getting up and going after his teammate.
It’s always great when you go to a sporting event and a wrestling match breaks out. Talk about the ultimate two-for-one deal.
