The NCAA Tournament endearingly referred to as March Madness is a little less “Mad” this year. With limited fans, no band, and an empty air feeling in the arenas, it’s definitely a different vibe.
While most fans aren’t getting to experience the Madness in person, there are some exceptions. One familiar face that has returned to the tournament is Loyola Chicago unofficial mascot Sister Jean. On Monday, we saw another familiar face when the broadcast caught Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow in attendance.
While Burrow established himself in college football lore at LSU, his father Jim was an assistant coach at Ohio. Joe also went to high school in Ohio, and of course he plays on one of the two Ohio NFL teams.
Unfortunately, Burrow couldn’t quite bring the same luck Sister Jean was seemingly able to bring Loyola. The Bobcats fell in the Round of 32 to Creighton after advancing due to a VCU COVID forfeiture.
