In 2021, Monday Night Football got a little more interesting with the introduction of the ManningCast.
With both legendary Manning brothers – Peyton and Eli – now retired from football, the pair has joined forces with ESPN to put on an alternate broadcast to the final game of each NFL week. On top of the unique insight and analysis provided by the brothers, they’re always accompanied by entertaining guests.
From Marshawn Lynch to Tom Brady, the ManningCast has attracted a handful of hilarious personalities. We’ve heard a lot over the first 13 weeks of the season, but we may not have heard an absolute roasting at quite the level that Joe Buck dished out in the latest edition.
Joe, stop it! That man has a family!
Just kidding, Peyton’s literal family was on the same broadcast and it certainly seemed like Eli enjoyed the moment.
Buck is referring to the 2014 Super Bowl when the Seattle Seahawks handled the Denver Broncos without much of a fight. The very first play of the game was a bad snap that Peyton couldn’t grab, resulting in a safety that set the tone for the rest of the game.
Seattle would go on to win 43-8.
