A couple of nights ago, Jimmy Butler put his acting skills on display for everyone to see.

With less than five seconds to go in a one-point game between the Miami Heat and the New York Knicks, Butler did it his best to sell a flagrant foul before popping back up to his feet, ready to go.

The Heat went on to win the game by six and afterwards Butler was asked about that moment late in the game where he had some fans, and even the announcers, a little concerned for a split second.

“I’ve studied Mark Wahlberg and how he acts so incredibly well,” Butler told reporters. “I’ve taken a few pointers.”

Most players would avoid answering that part of the question but Butler went on to give full credit to Mark Wahlberg for his acting skills on the court. Wahlberg and Butler met back in 2013 while the actor filmed “Transformers: Age of Extinction” in Chicago, and the two have remained friends ever since.

It certainly helps to be close friends with an actor if you want to learn a thing or two about selling some “missed” calls.
