Jesse Puljujarvi has proven to be a great feel-good story so far in 2020-21.
After departing North America to play in Finland last season, to a chorus of “bust” chants out of the NHL world, Puljujarvi returned to the team with a massive question mark in terms of expectation. Will he find the stride the Oilers were hoping for when they drafted him 4th overall in 2016, or will he double down as an NHL bust?
Well he hasn’t developed into a massive star quite yet, he has definitely become a useful piece of the Oilers’ lineup. Playing alongside Connor McDavid can do that on its own, but the young Finnish winger has also flashed talent of his own.
On top of that, he’s still looking to get better. In order to do so, he plans on using his big ol’ backside!
The grin is what does it for us.
