Winnipeg, Manitoba hosted its first ever NFL game on Thursday night and it was the Oakland Raiders who came out on top as they defeated the Green Bay Packers, 22-21, thanks to a field goal in the dying seconds of the game.
While the trip to Canada was a first for many on both sides of the field, and even some of the fans, the trip north of the border wasn’t anything new for Raiders tight end Luke Willson. Following the game, the LaSalle, Ontario native took some time to talk to our very own Jesse Pollock, and he was asked all the hard-hitting questions like if he could chug a bottle of pure maple syrup and if Winnipeg really is the ‘Vegas of the North’ now that he’s experienced it for himself.
The crew at Investors Group Field are probably going to become huge fans of Willson after seeing this because he saved them from having to clean up his vomit off the field by turning down the maple syrup challenge, and unfortunately for Jesse this is just another person to confirm that Winnipeg is NOT the Las Vegas of the North.
Sorry Jesse.
