Jeremy Roenick was always one of the more colourful personalities in the league, and he was never afraid to get extreme about things. His talent was undeniable, but his outspokenness is what he’ll be remembered for.

If there was a story about an NHL player pranking their teammates with very possible potential injury repercussions, it would be Roenick behind it.

In fact, it is Roenick behind it. JR joined the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast to tell one of the craziest stories you’ll ever hear an NHLer tell – the time he faked his own death in the most extreme way possible.

Devin Setoguchi and Torey Mitchell are really lucky to not have gotten more hurt. When you’re in that dire of straights, you would often sacrifice smaller parts of your health to save your life. Mitchell jumping through a window, for example.

While they probably got some laughs out of it now, there’s a good chance JR put that prank on the blacklist after this story.
