Former NBA Champion and Raptor Jeremy Lin is no stranger to what it’s like to be on the receiving end of anti-Asian hate.
Lin was the first American of Chinese or Taiwanese descent to play in the NBA, and the first Asian American to win an NBA ‘chip when the Raptors got it done in the 2018-2019 season. Recently, Lin was the victim of anti-Asian racism when another player in the G-League hurled the word ‘coronavirus’ at him.
Lin has always spoken up in condemning racism against the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. In the wake of last night’s horrific and targeted murders of Asian American women in Atlanta, Lin shared this message of hope while also bringing attention to the terrifying issue.
Good on Lin for bringing attention to this issue that desperately needs to be addressed.
