Sometimes it’s difficult to imagine that star athletes were at one point just like the rest of us. Whether that means fighting to get by or make ends meet, or just simply a sports enthusiast with dreams people didn’t genuinely believe you could achieve.

For Jaylen Brown, one high school teacher helped to make his success in the NBA extra special after her horrible prediction of where he’d be in five years.

On Tuesday, Brown celebrated the six-year anniversary of a tweet he sent claiming that a teacher had just told him that she predicted he’d be in jail five years from that day. Not only is he not in jail, Brown is part of a young Boston Celtics corps that has made it’s mark as one of the top threats in the NBA’s Eastern Conference.

While Brown explains that he doesn’t harbor any ill-will towards the teacher that he keeps nameless, it’s clear that the comment was a point of motivation for the young baller.

Celtics fans may be pretty excited to see where he is five years from today, that’s for sure.
