Is there anybody more exciting in baseball than Javier Baez right now? Although he earns his keep on defense, it’s his base-running swagger that captures our hearts.
Like, come on. Stealing home is fantastic under any circumstance, but Baez has to reach around the tag to score on the slide here. Baseball has never been so braggadocious.

It’s really nothing new for the Cubs infielder, who has made a habit of dope slides. It wasn’t long ago that he made some poor schlub look foolish biting on an incredible fake-out while stealing second.
