It’s been a frustrating season for Jaromir Jagr, who has struggled to stay healthy and has found himself out of the Calgary Flames’ lineup for some time. Jagr did not join the Flames on their most recent road trip, and TSN’s Darren Dreger reported on Tuesday that the 45-year-old will not make any decisions on his future until he is healthy. Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun previously wrote that the Flames could release Jagr in time for him to suit up for the Czech Republic at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic Games.

In the meantime, Jagr has been recovering in Calgary and had the opportunity to test out a different Canadian sport with one of the city’s other professional franchises. On Friday, #68 practiced with the Calgary Roughnecks of the National Lacrosse League. Mulptiple photos were captured of Jagr attempting to give the sport his best shot.
It’s really a shame that Jagr wasn’t forced to wear a helmet. Can you imagine what his flow would look like with a Lacrosse bucket on?

The Czech Republic isn’t exactly known as a lacrosse haven, however, they do have an indoor team which regularly participates in the World Indoor Lacrosse Championship. Given his profound athleticism and longevity, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Jagr develop into a solid player with more practice. The experience is just another reason for Canadian sports fans to love the future Hall of Famer.
