The Dallas Stars and the Nashville Predators kicked off 2020 with the Winter Classic at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas and they delivered one of the best outdoor games to the fans.
Before things got underway, captains Jamie Benn and Roman Josi met at centre ice for the ceremonial faceoff, where Ricky Williams and Troy Aikman were waiting for the two. As tradition goes, the home team’s captain ends up with the puck and the faceoff win, but in this case there were two pucks dropped with each captain expected to take one back.
However, Jamie Benn wanted all the pucks.
Josi seemed to get a good laugh out of Benn reaching across and snagging his puck, but he did some quick thinking and quickly grabbed the Stars captain’s puck to keep for himself.
