With the Final Four matchups locked in, there’s a certain rivalry brewing away from the court that involves the great Sister Jean and someone actually older than her.
Jalen Rose’s 100-year-old grandmother, Mary Belle Hicks, watched her grandson play three seasons with the Wolverines including the 1991 season where he was a part of the Fab Five.
In a video posted on Rose’s Instagram account, Hicks delivered a special message to the Loyola-Chicago 98-year-old team chaplain while wearing the Michigan blue and gold, essentially saying that Loyola’s Cinderella run is about to come to an end.
“Sister Jean, it’s been a good ride. But it’s over Saturday. Go Blue,” said Hicks.
There’s nothing like an 100-year-old super fan calling out the 98-year-old team chaplain to spice up a little off court beef. Plus, it just goes to show you that there’s no age limit on trash talking. Furthermore, it's great to see Rose's grandma still support Michigan after all these years.
Sister Jean will be in the spotlight when she meets Charles Barkley in down in Texas, and if there’s anyone that would like to hear Sister Jean’s response to Rose’s grandma, it’s Chuck.
Let the trash-talking continue, and the battle take place on and off the court.
