Whether you like it or now, the Paul brothers have planted themselves firmly into the world of entertainment boxing. We’ve seen the likes of Nate Robinson, Ben Askren, and even Floyd Mayweather go to battle with the YouTube stars, but it’s no secret who Jake Paul has his sights set on.
Jake has been after Conor McGregor for months, and even called a bout with the Irish MMA fighter his life goal. It’s no secret why Paul would want to fight McGregor seeing as “Notorious” has become one of the most marketable fighters on the planet.
On top of that, McGregor looks much more beatable than ever before. This is something that Paul certainly has no issue calling out.
During UFC 264, which featured Conor McGregor fighting Dustin Poirier, Paul showed up rocking a $100K “Sleepy McGregor” necklace. The blingy chain features his desired nemesis sitting on the ground after being defeated or, as Paul would put it, ‘put to sleep.’
WARNING: Some NSFW language in this clip
The fight didn’t really go as planned for anyone, as McGregor ended up breaking his leg towards the end of the 1st round on a stepback that twisted beneath him. Poirier scored the decision by TKO, but nobody was really satisfied with the result. Except for maybe Jake Paul…
As one final troll for the trilogy fight, Paul has decided to give his $100K chain to Poirier. While it could be seen as a reward for defeated McGregor, it seems more like Paul simply wants Poirier to snap at least one picture to anger McGregor.
"I'm hoping he takes a picture with it. I think that'd be the most legendary thing and make Conor look so stupid." Paul said during a press conference for his bout with Tyron Woodley.
As for Poirier, he plans to accept the necklace with the purpose of auctioning it off for charity. Whether or not he takes a picture to troll McGregor, well, we’ll just have to wait and see.
