Over the past weekend, one of the biggest names entering the 2021 NFL Draft and the projected first overall pick was picked up in a draft of his own.
Trevor Lawrence got married to his middle school sweetheart Marissa Mowry!
As the superstar quarterback from the Clemson Tigers football program is projected to get picked by the Jacksonville Jaguars as their first overall pick, Jaguars fans are absolutely over the moon for the potential that the 2019 National Championship QB can bring to the franchise.
So over the moon that they actually decided to give him a taste of the southern hospitality as Jaguars fans ended up finding Lawrence’s wedding gift registry and wanted to contribute to their new franchise QB.
Jaguars superfan Dillard, otherwise known as Dilla, came across the registry that contained a $300 smart toaster and a top-of-the-line Dyson vacuum along with other items the couple had requested on their list.
Sharing the information on Twitter, Dilla along with other Jags fans decided to give the couple a warm welcome to the organization as they continued to raise money over the weekend in hopes to purchase the items for the newlyweds.
Just after an hour of the initial tweet, Jags fans were able to donate $2250 to the cause, leading Dilla to poll on whether or not they should continue to purchase some items for the couple or donate the rest of the money to a charity of Trevor Lawrence’s choosing.
Other fans even decided to join in and purchase gifts as well!
Up until the point of publication, the donations going towards charity were noted to be pooled at $7,173
It’s honestly quite beautiful how sports can bring together people from vastly different backgrounds and walks of life.
The Jaguars fan base is awesome, this is the kind of stuff you love to see.
