Boston Bruins defenceman Zdeno Chara can now add another unique title to his resume.

In addition to being the league’s tallest player at 6’9, Big Z became its oldest player after Matt Cullen announced his retirement on July 10. This prompted the Slovakian to share a hilarious old school photo of himself with a surprisingly touching caption. The post spread like wildfire on the internet and caught the attention of a player who used to hold the honour; future Hall of Famer Jaromir Jagr. He proceeded to drop an incredible comment, reminding Chara he would “dethrone” him had he still been in The Show.

It’s hard to believe I’m now the oldest active player in the NHL. It’s been a long time since my rookie season but this game always keeps me young. Having the opportunity to play in the league all these years with and against the best players in the world has taught me time and time again that it’s a humbling game and age is just a number!

At 47, Jagr’s surprisingly still kicking with his hometown Kladno, where he posted one goal and three assists in four games. His last NHL game came as a member of the Calgary Flames on December 31, 2017, in which he was the tender age of 45. Sorry Z, but you’ve still got a ways to go!

BREAKING: Jaromir #Jagr has signed a 1-year, $1 million contract with the Calgary Flames.

Jagr’s been unusually busy on social media over the past 24 hours. Just before he posted a strange photo marking the anniversary of him signing with the Capitals, apologizing to fans for things not working out but also saying “you’re welcome” for ultimately helping them land Ovechkin which in turn, led them to the 2018 Stanley Cup.

Could Jagr become the new Roberto Luongo of social? We sure hope so.
